Ace's 4th Show - part 5 - Western Riding Class

As mentioned in part 1 - youth riders like to do every possible class they can and Madison is no exception. In spite of going in double classes Ace hadn't broke a sweat and looked good to go so...it was on to Western Riding Class - another first for young Ace and only the second time Madison had done it.

The pattern is pretty simple if long.  Trot over the pole, pick up the lope around the end of the arena, snake through the cones changing leads, lope around the other end of the arena then cut back to do a big serpentine back and forth the arena and around the cones changing leads, then after the last cone, swing up the middle, stop, back one horse length.

All that lead changing can challenge an experience horse.  Ace held it together longer than we though and then just changed leads every 5-6 steps or whenever he wanted!  In spite of that, they did the pattern correctly and won 3rd place!
